EUROPEAN WRITERS CLUB

The European Writers’ Club (EWC) is a new pilot program, supported by the EU Commission under their latest initiative called “Writing European”.

EWC aims to spark and facilitate collaboration between creators, writers, broadcasters, and producers of European tv-series to boost creativity and originality and tell stories that transcend to a larger European audience across- borders.

EWC will create a unique European network of industry professionals. By a collective and collaborative process of sharing, exchanging, and getting inspired, EWC will introduce new methods of creating stories and secure fast access to market for the best original ideas, which can capture a large European audience. EWC is all about creative empowerment and building an infrastructure that can compete with those of the global streamers.

In this pilot phase, we will invite 25 high-end creators/writers together with 10 broadcasters and 5 producers to attend our initiative. To secure the availability of the best creator/writers, they will receive a grant to participate in the project.

The creator/writers will be selected by EWC from an open call as well from participating broadcasters’ recommendations. The Broadcasters will be public service, private and local streamers in Europe. We prefer attaching one public service or private broadcaster from each country being represented and possibly 2-4 local streamers (with max. of 1 broadcaster and 1 local streamer per country). They will all be in on the program from the very start to the end. They will each pay an attachment fee of 15.000€

The EWC is initiated by a group of experienced and talented professionals from all over Europe including Le Groupe Ouest and Torino Film Lab, whose methodologies will be applied.
